      FFI Indonesia is seeking highly qualified candidates for two senior positions for up to four years based in Raja Ampat (Waigeo/Sorong) in West Papua. The project focusses on the ‘conservation of tropical forests biodiversity and poverty reduction through collaborative management and sustainable community development in Waigeo’, Raja Ampat Archipelago. The project is a partnership project implemented by two international NGO’s Oro Verde and Fauna & Flora International in collaboration with two NGOs based in Sorong, Yayasan Nazareth and Yayasan Belantara. The positions will begin on March 1st 2014.

      1) Field Project Coordinator

      The field project coordinator will have full responsibility of managing the field project in collaboration with the local NGO partners. Besides the management role the project coordinator will have a mentor / technical advisor role for the local NGO partners and provide on the job technical and management training for the implementation of an integrated conservation and community development project. The project coordinator will be required to have at least a bachelor degree in relevant sciences and at least 5 years of job experience in project management and biodiversity conservation and/or community based natural resource management and community development. Fluent language skills are required in both English and Indonesian language to ensure professional donor reporting and communication with international NGO partners. Job experience and cultural understanding to work in in the Papua/ Eastern Indonesia context is very important, since local indigenous people are the main target group. Good interpersonal skills and experience with stakeholder liaison, participatory planning and development processes is essential.

      2) Project accountant/ project administrator

      The project accountant will be responsible for project accounting and administration. It is expected that the candidate will have senior accounting experiences and has been responsible for managing project accounts for medium seized projects with a minimum budget of USD 100,000 annually. The project accountant will also oversee a small grant program for village development. An educational background in accounting/ finance management is required and at least 5 relevant of relevant job experience in project accounting. Cultural sensitivity and good interpersonal skills are required since the work requires to work in collaboration with local NGOs and local community grantees. The accountant will also act as a mentor and provide financial management training to local village grantees and local NGO partners.
